Investment bond

Flexible features
The Sterling Investment bond aims to increase the value of the money you invest through a choice of funds that match your objectives. It also gives you some life cover. You should consider this investment as medium to long term (for at least five to ten years).

bullet point Minimum investment initial £5,000, additional £1,000, (minimum investment for the Distribution fund is £10,000). We can only accept initial investments by cheque.
bullet point If you die within the first ten years of making your first payment, the death benefit is 100.1% of the bond's value, (110% of the bond's value if death is due to an accident), or the total payment less any withdrawals, whichever is higher. After ten years the death benefit is 100.1% of the bond's value.
bullet point Fund switching is currently free although we reserve the right to charge for excessively frequent switching. You can download our switch form and send it to us in the post. Unfortunately, we cannot accept e-mails or fax requests.
bullet point Regular withdrawals. You can take a one off payment or for regular withdrawals up to 7.5% of the current plan's value either monthly, quarterly, termly (three times a year), half-yearly or yearly, either as a fixed amount or a percentage of the fund.
Download the
regular withdrawal request form.
bullet point The Investment Bond has no fixed term.

You should monitor the value of your investment as the value and any income from it isn't guaranteed and can fall as well as rise. You may not get back the amount invested. Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance.

If you decide to cash in, or withdraw from your investment in the first five years we may apply an early cash-in charge and you need to consider any tax liabilities which may be incurred.

The law relating to tax is complex and subject to change by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and will depend on individual circumstances.
