Investment Account

The Sterling Investment Account enables you to invest a lump sum or regular amounts, in a wide range of funds, with the potential for growth and income. It also enables you to bring your investments together into one account.

Your adviser will help you decide if the Sterling Investment Account is right for you.

You can find out about the plan's aims, risks and your commitments by selecting from the sections below.

Its aims

What this plan is designed to do

  • Increase the value of the money you invest.
  • Allow you to withdraw your money when you want it.
  • Allow you to choose from a wide range of funds to match your investment objectives and attitude to investment risk.
  • Allow you to take income if you choose

Your commitment

What we ask you to do

  • Seek financial advice. If you don't, your decisions may not be appropriate.
    You should seek financial advice
    - before making any decision to invest
    - regularly while your money is invested
    - when your financial circumstances change.
  • Look to invest for at least five to ten years.
  • Leave at least £2,000 in your account if you make a withdrawal. If you don't, the charges will be high in relation to the account value and this could make it difficult for your investment to grow, and we may close your account.

Risk factors

What you need to be aware of

  • The value of your investment account can go down and you may get back less than you invested.
  • The level of risk and potential investment performance differs depending on the funds you choose.
  • The value of any income you take can fall and rise

We also offer a range of 'wider market' funds, at an additional charge, over and above our normal panel fund charges, if our panel funds do not offer the fund you're looking for.  Your adviser will be able to provide you with details of the funds available.
